Photo of the week #6 Brasov

Situated in the heart of Romania, Brasov is a beautiful medieval town. It is fringed by the peaks of the Southern Carpathian Mountains and is resplendent with gothic, baroque and renaissance architecture. It is located in the Translyvania region of Romania. Some people even say, “Why bother coming to Romania if you’re not going to see BraลŸov?” ๐Ÿ™‚

This picture is taken from the top of the Tampa mountain. It shows ย the Council Square (Piata Sfatului) in the heart of the old medieval Brasov. Lined with beautiful red-roofed merchant houses, the square is one of the finest in the country. In the center of the square lies the Council House, built in 1420.

Brasov is the perfect base if you want to explore the Transylvania region of Romania. Not only that, it is also a beautiful, historical city with warm, welcoming locals and an amazing cafe culture.

  1. Believe it or not, I literally JUST pressed ‘Publish’ on my Braov post and went to my reader to see what others have been writing, and this is the first thing that popped up ๐Ÿ˜€
If you’re still there, let me know, because I found the world’s best coffee in Brasov!!

    1. Haha! Great people think alike, eh!? ๐Ÿ˜‰
We had left Brasov by the time I read your post. But know what? We had some really great coffee on the main pedestrian street(Republicii street) in Brasov! Now, that’s another coincidence or what!!
